CL&P Enters Into Agreement with Connecticut DEP
on Open Space
Helping improve the quality of life we all enjoy in Connecticut is important to Connecticut Light & Power. That is why the company has entered into a unique Memorandum of Understanding with the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection to provide land trusts, communities and the environmental community as a whole the first opportunity to acquire undeveloped lands owned by CL&P before the company sells the land to anyone else at a future date.
A full review of all CL&P-owned land was conducted, and those properties with the highest open space value were placed on a Conservation List made available to all interested parties. The list currently includes 409 parcels of land, including more than 10,000 acres in more than 100 Connecticut towns.
It's just another way CL&P is improving the natural environment.
