Smart Grid
At CL&P, we are constantly looking for ways to reduce energy use - particularly at peak energy periods - so we can do our part to reduce the amount of non-renewable fossil fuels burned to provide energy to Connecticut residents and businesses. Some of the ways we're doing that is through our proposed investment in Smart Grid technologies and our recently completed three-month pilot of our Plan-It Wise Energy Program.
We hope to learn from this pilot if our customers will change their peak time energy usage in response to clear price differences during peak times and the use of smart technology. CL&P will be reporting pilot results and making recommendations to the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control later this year.
